There are few places around Austin that combine the elegance of European architecture with the natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country quite like Ma Maison. Located in Dripping Springs, just outside Austin, Ma Maison provides an incredible setting for wedding photography, with beautiful architecture, expansive grounds, and countless locations for portraits and candid moments.
Maria and Brenden’s wedding was a perfect example of what makes a Ma Maison wedding so special.
From the quiet moments getting ready to the celebration with their family and friends, their wedding day was filled with genuine emotion, beautiful details, and the kind of candid moments that make wedding photography so meaningful. Enjoy my favorite photos from the day.

A Beautiful Wedding Day at Ma Maison
One of my favorite things about photographing weddings at Ma Maison is the variety of the property. The venue combines a European-inspired aesthetic with the scenery of the Texas Hill Country, creating a setting that feels completely different from a typical Austin wedding venue.
Ma Maison sits on 23 acres and offers several distinct ceremony and reception spaces, giving couples plenty of opportunities to create a wedding day that feels uniquely their own.
For Maria and Brenden, that variety gave us plenty of opportunities for photographs throughout the day.
I love approaching a wedding like this from both a documentary and artistic perspective. Some of my favorite photographs aren’t the perfectly posed portraits—they’re the little moments in between. A laugh shared with a parent. A quiet moment together before the ceremony. Friends reacting during the reception. The expression on someone’s face when they see the bride for the first time.
Those moments happen naturally, and my goal is to be there to photograph them without making the day feel like a photo shoot.
Wedding Portraits at Ma Maison
Of course, a beautiful wedding venue also gives us opportunities to create portraits that feel a little more intentional.
Ma Maison is particularly fun for portraits because the architecture and landscape provide so many different backdrops. The venue’s European-inspired design works beautifully with classic wedding portraits, while the surrounding Hill Country scenery gives us a completely different look.
That combination allows me to create a wedding gallery that doesn’t feel repetitive.
We can make beautiful, dramatic portraits around the architecture, move into the surrounding grounds for something more natural, and then step back and photograph the candid moments happening throughout the celebration.
The result is a gallery that tells the entire story of the wedding day rather than simply documenting a collection of posed photographs.
The Candid Moments That Matter
For me, wedding photography has always been about more than making beautiful pictures.
It’s about remembering how the day actually felt.
Maria and Brenden’s wedding was full of those moments—the expressions, laughter, hugs, and interactions that happen naturally when two families and groups of friends come together to celebrate.
Those photographs are often the ones couples don’t realize they will treasure the most.
Years from now, you’ll probably remember the big moments: walking down the aisle, exchanging rings, your first dance and cutting the cake.
But you’ll also want to remember the things you didn’t see.
What was happening behind you while you were talking to your friends? What did your parents look like during the ceremony? Who was laughing during the speeches? What was happening on the dance floor when you were somewhere else?
That’s where documentary wedding photography becomes so valuable.
A Ma Maison Wedding Photographer in Dripping Springs
Ma Maison is one of the most distinctive wedding venues in the Austin and Dripping Springs area. Its combination of European-inspired architecture, Hill Country scenery, and multiple indoor and outdoor spaces gives couples an enormous amount of flexibility for both their wedding and their wedding photography.
As an Austin wedding photographer, I love photographing weddings at venues like Ma Maison because the setting gives me so many opportunities to create different types of photographs throughout the day.
I can focus on the story as it unfolds naturally while also creating the timeless portraits that couples will want to display in their home.
That balance—candid, authentic moments combined with beautiful, artistic portraits—is at the heart of my approach to wedding photography.
Thank You, Maria & Brenden
Maria and Brenden, thank you for allowing me to be part of such an important day.
It was an absolute pleasure documenting your wedding and getting to capture the people, emotions, laughter, and little moments that made your celebration uniquely yours.
I hope these photographs bring you right back to your wedding day for many years to come.
Congratulations, Maria & Brenden!
